Terms & Conditions

Terms for shopping with Name & Kin, including personalization, payments, import charges, delivery, refunds, account security, and your legal rights.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use nameandkin.com or buy from Name & Kin (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Our store is operated by MAI RUI ARTS & CRAFTS CO., LIMITED, which is the seller for purchases from this store and the company referred to as “we,” “us,” and “our” in these terms. Huizhou Ruiteng E-Commerce Co., Ltd. provides supply chain, order fulfillment, and logistics services in collaboration with us. These arrangements do not change our responsibility to you as the seller. Company and office details appear in Section 11. By placing an order, you confirm that you are an adult able to enter into a purchase contract and that the details you provide are accurate.

1. Our products

We sell personalized essentials and gifts for children and families, including backpacks and other products made to order. Materials, sizes, personalization methods, and care instructions vary by product. Please check the individual product page before ordering.

Small variations in color, texture, letter shape, and placement can occur with handcrafted products. Screens can also display colors differently. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty or materially different from its description or an agreed design.

2. Personalization and changes

Please check names, spelling, capitalization, colors, sizes, quantities, and delivery details before placing your order. We normally make the personalization exactly as submitted.

If you notice a mistake or want to request a change or cancellation, email service@nameandkin.com as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours. Include your order number and the exact change. Once production has started, changes or voluntary cancellations may no longer be possible. This does not limit any cancellation or other right you have under applicable law.

3. Content you provide

You must have the right to use and share the names, messages, photos, logos, or other content you submit. You give us limited permission to use that content to review, make, deliver, and support your order. Public use in advertising requires separate permission, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We may refuse content that is unlawful, threatening, hateful, deceptive, infringes another person’s rights, or cannot be produced on the selected item. If we cancel an item before it is made, we will refund the amount paid for that item.

4. Orders and confirmations

Your order confirmation records the details of your purchase. Keep it and check that the products, personalization, and delivery information are correct.

If we find missing information, a payment problem, an obvious pricing error, or a production issue, we will contact you. We will not increase the agreed price or substitute a product without your agreement. If we cannot supply an item, we will explain the issue and offer an available alternative or refund. You do not have to accept a substitute, and any cancellation remains subject to your legal rights.

5. Prices, payments, and import charges

Our default currency is US dollars. If you select another supported currency, the checkout total in that currency applies. Product prices, shipping, discounts, and taxes collected by us are shown before you place the order.

You can pay using the payment methods offered at checkout. You must be authorized to use the payment method. Your payment provider or bank may apply its own currency conversion or other fees. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Promotions apply only during the stated period and under the conditions shown with the offer. They cannot be exchanged for cash.

Customs, duties, and import taxes

International orders may be subject to import duties, local taxes, and customs or carrier clearance fees. Unless checkout states that these charges are included or prepaid, you are responsible for charges assessed on your shipment where applicable law permits. Such charges are separate from the product price and shipping fee.

You should not be charged twice for the same duty or tax already collected at checkout. If a carrier requests a charge you believe you have already paid, contact us with the order details and notice so we can help check it.

Customs inspections can extend delivery times. If a parcel is refused because of charges payable by you, contact us. Any reshipping cost or deduction from a refund must reflect actual recoverable costs and applicable law; we will explain the calculation. Refusal does not automatically forfeit every right to a refund.

6. Production, delivery, returns, and refunds

Most personalized items need 2–4 business days for production. Standard shipping transit times vary by destination and start after dispatch. A different production estimate on the product page or at checkout takes priority. See our Shipping Policy for country-specific transit estimates, excluded addresses and areas, shipping costs, tracking, and delivery help.

Items made to your specifications or clearly personalized cannot normally be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. This does not remove your rights if goods are damaged, faulty, incomplete, or different from what you ordered. Any applicable cancellation rights for non-personalized goods remain available.

Please report delivery damage or an incorrect item promptly. Submit eligible return or exchange requests within 30 calendar days of delivery. This request window does not shorten your legal rights. Our Return & Refund Policy explains the evidence, available remedies, and refund process.

If a return is needed, contact us for the correct return address and instructions. A company office or the sender address on a parcel may not be the return location.

7. Product care and child use

Follow the care instructions provided for your particular product. For our corduroy backpacks, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. If deeper cleaning is needed, gently hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. Do not machine wash, bleach, or tumble dry these backpacks.

An adult should choose an age-appropriate product, inspect it before use, and supervise young children as appropriate. Stop using an item if damage creates a hazard. These precautions do not limit our responsibility for product safety.

8. Account security and website use

If you create an account, keep your login details private, use a secure password, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for the activity you carry out or authorize through your account. Responsibility for unauthorized activity depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

Our website design, photographs, text, graphics, and original designs belong to us or are used with permission. You may browse and use the website for personal shopping. You may not unlawfully copy or commercially reuse protected content, bypass security, introduce harmful code, or interfere with the website.

Our Privacy Policy explains how account and order information is handled.

9. Website availability, unexpected events, and liability

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but access may be interrupted by maintenance or technical problems. An interruption does not remove our obligations for existing orders.

Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure)

Serious events such as natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, or major transport disruptions may prevent or delay an order. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for a failure directly caused by an event that legally qualifies as force majeure. Routine carrier or customs delays do not automatically qualify.

We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible, take reasonable steps to reduce the impact, and provide an updated estimate or explain the available options. If we cannot fulfil your order, or you are legally entitled to cancel because of a delay, we will provide the required refund. This clause does not excuse a delay or failure already caused by us.

Your legal protections

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Your legal rights concerning late, missing, faulty, unsafe, or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms and purchases from our store are governed by the laws of mainland China. This choice does not take away any mandatory consumer protection available under the law of your country of habitual residence.

Contact service@nameandkin.com so we can try to resolve a concern. You may bring a claim before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law, including your local courts where consumer law permits. Contacting us first is encouraged but is not a condition for exercising a legal right.

11. Changes, company information, and contact

We may update these terms for future orders and website use. The version in effect when you place an order applies to that purchase. Later changes do not alter an existing order unless you agree or the law requires it. We will post the updated version here and give any notice required by law.
